“Financial peace isn’t the acquisition of stuff. It’s learning to live on less than you make, so you can give money back and have money to invest. You can’t win until you do this.” –Dave Ramsey
If you’re at all like me, you want to build a financial nest egg for your family: a solid foundation of wealth and savings to pass down to our future, your children. But financial terms, strategies, and tools are scary and don’t feature voices of folks that look like us in any way. It feels like the financial industry is dominated and controlled by men, older white men to be exact. And I just could not relate.
Until I found this resource!
Tela Holcomb is a mom, wife, woman of color, entrepreneur, and stock trader/educator. She offers a full course called the Stocks and Profit Course. It’s is a 7-day intro and crash course into stock trading tools and strategies to become profitable, with a small amount of money to start. Here’s a screenshot from her site:
Tela’s been featured in Glamour mag and Bauce mag, which is how I came across her site. I’ll be taking her course this week, and sharing out tidbits and learnings as the week goes on, via our Instagram and Facebook page. Stay tuned to learn some of what I learn. In the coming weeks, I’ll try a strategy I learned with some of my own money, and share the results here on this post. Do you have any great financial resources that are easy to learn from and have great advice? Please do share!
